A successful fundraiser we held last year was Audience Participation. TV Shows will pay you to go and sit in the audience and watch shows being taped. Most of them pay $15 per person on a weekday and $10 on a weekend. Shows are mostly taped in downtown Los Angeles and there are a couple taped in Culver City. We must have 10 people minimum per taping to go, and the check will come to the Boosters. The money each individual earns will be credited to their student's account. You can ask friends, family, neighbors, and anyone else you choose to go with you. Their payment will also be credited into your student's account. There are minimum ages in order to be in the audience for most of the shows. From check-in until the end of the taping is on average 4 hours, plus the time to get to and from the studio.
If you are interested in doing this, we need to get your names and availability. There are basically shows being taped every day in June and July.
There is a new show being taped in the San Fernando Valley, out in Studio City, that might be interesting since it is closer than the other shows:
Pictureka, a new family TV game show for The Discovery Kids channel, one of the few family oriented TV tapings available. Pictureka is a new physical, high-energy children’s game show that has teams competing in a series of games featuring mazes, races, ball pits, and BALLOON FIELDS! The tagline of the game is “Find it fast, Find it first!” The minimum age to attend is 8 years old and the minimum group size is 10 people. The tapings are at CBS Radford Studios in Studio City/San Fernando Valley.
Tapings are:
Thursday, June 10th. Arrival time is 1 PM (finished at approximately 5:00 PM). $12 per person that attends.
Saturday, June 12th. Two tapings each day, a 10:30 AM arrival (finished at approximately 1:30 PM) and a 2:00 PM check-in (finished at approximately 5:30 PM). $10 per person that attenda.
Sunday, June 13th. Two tapings each day, a 10:30 AM arrival (finished at approximately 1:30 PM) and a 2:00 PM check-in (finished at approximately 5:30 PM). $10 per person that attends.
The show then tapes Tuesday, June 15th, Wednesday, June 16th, Friday, June 18th, Saturday, June 19th, Monday, June 21st, Tuesday, June 22nd, Wednesday, June 23rd, Friday, June 25th, Sunday, June 27th, Tuesday, June 29th and Wednesday, June 30th. However, we are still waiting on times for those dates.
Another new show this group is promoting and trying to get audiences for is:
The 'Ultimate Gamer’. The SyFy Channel, The World Cyber Games, and Samsung have all teamed up, X-Men-style, to create a TV competition based on video games. The series features top game titles and includes physical challenges that bring video games to life, as well as elimination challenges in an arena with spectators. This exciting new form of reality T.V will feature skilled contestants hoping to win a prize package that includes $100,000 and trips to future World Cyber Games (WCG) events across the globe. The minimum age to attend is 14 years old and the minimum group size is 10 people. Tapings are at LA Center Studios in Downtown Los Angeles.
Taping dates are: June 5th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 15 & 17th. All tapings have a 3:30 PM check-in (finished at approximately 7:30 PM). You will be paid $15 per person on weekdays and & $10 per person on weekends.
